Boss

Boss (ボス Bosu ) is one of the main characters in the Isle of Dogs movie. He was also in Chief's dog pack.

Background[]

Boss was once the mascot for the Megasaki Dragons, a baseball team that was "unbeatable." When the dog flu hit Japan, Boss, along with many other dogs, were transported to Trash Island under Mayor Kobayashi's orders. Upon arriving on the island, Boss became part of a pack that consisted of other dogs under the names of Chief, Rex, Duke, and King.

Personality[]

Even though he is the mascot of a baseball, Boss is a very quiet and reserved dog, unlike the talkative Duke. This mostly likely stems from the depression he suffers from during the months he stayed on Trash Island. Boss is very loyal towards his friends and does everything he can to help them during their exile on Trash Island.

Boss is also very insensitive as he took the name tag off of the dead dog's skeleton, showing he does not hesitate to steal from the dead. However, his decision to take the dead dog's name tag proved to be crucial as he and his friends were able to realize Spots was still alive. Boss even displays a sense of fashion as he is mostly seen wearing a baseball jersey to show his support for his baseball team.

Boss also displays kindness towards his friends and to humans, especially Atari. When learning Atari why came to Trash Island, Boss is willing to help the boy find his dog, showing he still cares about humans in general, despite being exiled by them to Trash Island.

Physical Appearance[]

He is a small, orange and white dog of an unknown breed. He has pointy ears and dark eyes. Most notably, he wears a striped sweater adorned with the writing "Dragons", relating to how he was the mascot of the Megasaki Dragons baseball team.
